With the rising number of unwanted dogs and cat in the United States today, it is a sad fact that some unlucky German Wirehaired Pointers end up in desperate need of homes.

Before we can take a dog into our network, we must have a photo, rescue coordinators are consulted, and the dog evaluated for placement options. We can then set up a temporary foster home...make arrangements for spay/neuter of the dog, transport to foster home or boarding facility. There is a lot that must be done. In the case of the dog being an owner release and not a stray, often times we can network and refer people to you, allowing the dog to stay in the comfort of its home.

Please be aware that being placed solely as a hunting dog is not a criteria for adoption. It is a "bonus" that one gets when taking on the responsibility of a rescue. Primary criteria for these rescues is a secure permanent home with structure and love. Whenever possible we do attempt to place dogs in hunting homes when there is background info that they have been hunted. We do not recommend placement of any wirehair with small dogs or cats.

We are very careful about screening all applicants. We take great effort to fit the home and lifestyle of the applicant to the dog. The new owners must commit to training the dog, obedience classes, and we do home visits.
