Hi, there!

I'm new to the forum and the breed, but my fiance is very familiar with GWPs. We want one to join us in our active lifestyle -- hiking, kayaking, camping, etc. Because I also have 2 parrots that are very much a part of the family, I need to find a litter that may not have as strong a prey drive as most are bred for. Any suggestions or recommendations? I realize even a pup with less of the hunting drive will need careful training around the birds. Thanks for any input.

Any chance you'd consider a rescue dog? There's a number of lovely non-hunting wires out there that could use a good, high energy home.

Thanks Deb!

Actually found an 11 month old that does not enjoy hunting! Her breeders have been looking for a home for her where she can be a regular family member. We will be checking her out in 2 weeks. Thanks for your suggestion. I'm hoping for the best with this arrangement.

Pleased to hear you found a pup. Best of luck with the little girl and do let us know how it goes.
