| How common is black in the GWP? Example, I have seen a litter of pups where the majority are black and white spotted and ticked. Both sire and dam are liver and white spotted and ticked. Thanks. |

Black puppies out of brown parents is not very common at all. In fact, it's impossible. One of the parents must be black in order for any of the pups to be black. |

| Tony is right. If there are black pups in this litter, either the sire or dam HAD to be black(black meaning black roan). There is no other way this could have happened. So either there was a "mix up" in the kennel or the breeder is not being honest. Breeders that are honest or can't keep their dogs from self-propagating need to be approached very cautiously. |
