My 2.5-year-old female GWP is only sight pointing since a pup. I thought this will change with time but is doesn't. How to train her to point with scent only? |

| Dogs generally aren't born sight pointers so the question has to be how has she learned to be a sight pointer? I think we all will nedd to know this before any suggestions can be made. Exactly what does she do when she "makes"scent on a bird? |

| I'm really sorry for not posting so long! Excuse me. For my dog's training - she's obedience-trained and nothing more. I just wanted to see if she'll made a gundog. I went in the fields where there are birds and let her play. Later she saw a bird then pointed it. I went closer to the dog so the bird scared and flew away. And she chased it until I called her back. I see her she smells the birds - she runs slower and she moves her nostrils then gets closer, points, pounces near the bird and chases it. Can I train her to hold the point? |
