2006 is slated to be in southern CA... I believe the timing is due to weather conditions in that neck of the country.
I don't know that we could ever schedule the Nationals to suit everyone, September ... it's too hot, December to tough for some to travel...October and November... hunting times. I always wanted the spring as well, but Vern is right about weather concerns. So there is never a "best" time. Not for everyone. I guess everyone just needs to decide what works for them and what is most important for them.
If a stake is designated as a National Championship, the winner will be called a "National Champion" no matter how many entries. If entries continued to be in those small numbers, I would guess AKC may step in and pull the Championship status. Then the club would have to start all over again to get the NCh status back.
It's been fun watching our Ch stakes grow in entries and in quality over the years. |
