Hello All - I am looking for a GWP pup in Eastern Canada or North East USA. I would prefer the "North American" type of GWP which, from what I have been advised is less sharp than the original type and therefore makes a more versatile companion.

Eric,

I don't know who has informed you that the "American version" is any less sharp than the German one. Breeders make dogs - and I suggest you search for a breeder not a registry. Personally I don't care which breed or registry you buy into but it always upsets me when folks go off half cocked. I say again - find a good breeder that breeds the kind of dog you want. You will find them in all breeds but you'll have to do your homework.

BTW, the best versatile GWPs come from German lines so you need to do more homework than you thought Smile There are only a few GWP breeders truly committed to versatile dogs. Beware the pretenders.
