I have a 9 month old GWP/Lab cross. For the last several months he has been getting up for bowel movements between 2 and 4 AM.
He's done fine sleeping through the night since he was 3-4 months old. There has not been significant changes to his schedule, food, training etc.
I tried feeding him earlier and keeping him up later. I tried increasing his exercise because I thought he might sleep more soundly. Nothing seems to make any difference.
During the day he waits 8 hours without having an accident but at night he can't go more than 4 or 5. He eats Purina Pro Plan Puppy for large breed puppies. That's what they were giving him when we adopted him so I just kept with it. He's never been on anything else.
Would another brand of food help? Could this be a symptom of another health issue? Does anyone have any ideas? I really want to sleep through the night. |
