| In the latest Wire-News there are pictures of a Tri-color and an Orange & White GWP pup. Thank you for bringing this problem to our attention. Now post the bloodlines of these pups so we can eliminate these faults...vern |

now that I have finally gotten my Wire News. I think the photos of the tri color puppies were taken from a German/VDD website. At least they look like the photos on that site.
I can't vouch for the orange puppy.... don't know exactly where that one came from.
It would be nice to have more information and not just pictures of such things. How are we to learn, to avoid, to not reproduce this?!!! Someone should ask or attempt to follow it up?

Sharon Pinkerton may be able to give some info...her Freddy vom Kapellenhof came out of a kennel that produced 2 or 3 tri-colors (may have been Freddy's litter). To my knowledge, tri-colors are produced by matings of liver/liver roan dogs only...a liver and white/roan dog with reddish "points". I read somewhere that the odds are 1 in 5000.
I think there are far more pressing genetic issues than trying to figure out which dogs might have a recessive allele. |
