What is the main difference in the GWP and the Griffon ? How do their temperments compare ? Which one is the closer working ?
Your comments are very well appreciated.

One hunts..
'Lap dog' vs. More Serious Working dog with much higher inherent drives.
95% of Griffs will polish your boots.
Occasional good one but most arent worth feeding, based on friends' opinion, a long time Navhda judge whose seens many of both..
Theres a reason you dont see many Griffs in the field.
If youre a serious hunter, look to Navhda bred GWP or DD. _________________ Real men hunt Wire Dogs |

I think there are probably more than a few Griff owners that would disagree with the previous posters conclusions.
All in all I do agree that the Griff is probably a softer dog, and not as driven. And from all reports they will be a closer working dog in general, but remember there are all types of GWP's out there. Some are more wide ranging than others.
NAVHDA titles are a good indicator, as well as an advanced HT title or FC. Talk to breeders, see as many dogs (of either breed) that you can and know what you are looking for in a dog.
