I've got a couple of bitches that need majors. Can we arrange something somewhere in the Midwest this spring?

| The German Wirehaired Pointer Club Of Illinois has moved their specialty from IKC in February to Rock Island Illinois on May 9th in conjunction with the Scott County Kennel Club Show.. GWPCI will support the entry on Sunday May 10th. Puppy sweeps/veterans sweeps on Sat- host club has veterans sweeps on Sunday. Obedience, rally, agility and conformation all together at the QCCA Expo Center. Over 40 awards have been sponsored by club members and supporters. . Onofrio is the superintendent for additional information and to download entry forms. If you are looking for majors- this should be a nicely attended show! |

It's always been the same story with majors- it is not enough to find shows with them- then your dogs have to win them!!!
As an exhibitor who has finished many dogs with more than 3 majors, one undefeated with 5 majors in 3 entirely different pools of competitors (we traveled a bit) I do realize that some dogs take longer to finish than others. I look at it as; there are champions, and then there are CHAMPIONS
I always enjoy looking at the number of shows a dog has been competing in, and the winning percentage of the dog, and what type of competition they were up against. And, was the dog able to win against different sets of competitors, or did the handler manage to finish the dog by winning against the same set of competitors, which may have been only mediocre, or not in condition to be truly formidable competition.
As we all know, many dogs are finished champions which are really not what a breeder with high goals for improvement would select to use in their breeding program. They just provide some fun for the owner, some money in the handler's pocket, and/or help their sire or dam get their ROM. _________________ Aablwch German Pointers, formerly"Darling's",
