So Cooper is now almost 6 months old and has been with us for 3 months. Apart from a few mistakes the first few nights, he has not made any mistakes at night. I repeat, he holds it ALL night with no trouble. He is a great dog and very well behaved, almost...
But he still pees and occasionally poops right in front of us during the day. He is unfriggin believable. He goes right for the rug. We are all right there and he makes a steamy pile. Or he'll get up and squat/pee and just look at us.
What are we supposed to do?
It is really disappointing behavior. |

| Disappointing? What BS! This is your fault not the dogs. |

Thanks Billy Ray! That's brilliant!
But seriously, if you could lend your expertise I would appreciate it. Do you have any idea why he would pee so 'matter of factly' around us when he comfortably holds it all night?
He doesn't do this all the time, but regularly enough so that it is bloody odd.
He is pretty much perfect pup in all other regards. |

I actually started writing something nasty back to billy bob - but I think that is what he wants. Don't feed the cranky baby...
Anyone else have ideas?
Since we have had other dogs/cats, I was wondering if those rugs might have absorbed their smells and he is just marking territory as 'his'?
Advice appreciated! |

1. Check with you vet to be certain that this is a behavior issue, not a physical one.
2. The rug and other animals in the house idea makes some sense. The rugs are either marked with his previous mistakes or with other animal mistakes. Can the rugs be removed/cleaned?
