Hi,
I recently acquired a GWP, Katie, from one of my students and wanted to share her story with you all.
Katie was found on the streets of Yuma in March, 2007 at about the age of 10 weeks. She was transferred to the Arizona Humane Society shortly thereafter and was adopted by one of my students in a lottery. The first time she came to class, it was love at first sight! I've trained thousands of dogs and have had this level of connection with only a handful of puppies. I knew immediately that she was my dog, but didn't say a word.
Last week, her owner called me in a panic--her son had developed a serious allergy to Kay (her old name) and his pediatrician had suggested she needed to get rid of her. She called me last Friday, we arranged for a "test drive" overnight and I officially adopted her on Saturday.
She is absolutely a great dog and a credit to her breed. We go to the dog park every day (early because of the heat), she goes to work with me at PetSmart, and is learning to swim from her Labradoodle niece, Tillie. My long term goal with her is completion of her CGC and to volunteer as a therapy dog.
If anyone knows anything about her, please let me know.
Steve
