The North Dakota trip is over, and some highlight photos follow.

An early morning in the layout blind. Real obedience and versatility are critical here!!
The 100th bird of the 2006 season bagged over and retrieved by the dog. A beautiful drake mallard. Yum, yum.
And last but not least a photo of the dog's feet after the last hunt of the last day. As can be seen, the Dakota praires and grass are not as hard on a dog's feet as pretend hunters would have one believe. The jeep trails, alder thicks, and poplars, these haunts of yearling grouse and tired woodcock are much tougher on a dog's feet. Of course I already knew that because I hunt there!!
