| Our family just got an eleven week old all white puppy very tight coat that has no hint of a beard yet. Is this normal? |

| Congrats on the new puppy!!! I am no expert when it comes to GWP's but this web site is very informative and there is always help just a click away. Our Miss Molly (almost 8 months) also has a close coat. She did not start getting her beard until about 3-4 months. She is just now starting to get the longer hair on her face. Her brothers and sister all had long and bushy coats from and early age. So there are all different types of GWP. Be patient, it will come. They are so cute when they have all of this short hair except for a 1-2 inch beard, we call it her gotee. diana |

I would be happy if the dog does not have too much for furnishings at this age.
If a pup this age has a few longer hairs in the corners of the mouth and (more important) has some feathering between the toes on the bottom of the feet, I wouldn't be too worried yet. Your breeder should be able to tell you better if this pup will get furnishings-what did he/she say when you bought the pup? |
