Hubby and I are having a discussion on the benefits of training male dogs versus female dogs. I feel and have always heard that males are easier to train and more biddable so to speak whereas the female tends to be a little more independent. Hubby feels the opposite. Right now the only female dog I have ever owned is a terrier so not sure if the way she acts would be the same in the GPW breed. She is most definitely INDEPENDENT.
Any other thoughts/opinions/observations on this subject?

In my humble opinion I like working with females. to me they have always been easier to work with and they don't have to pee on every thing they walk by. I have been training dogs for 15 years for field work and I will always own a female. I just like them better. _________________ Proud Owner of 2 AKC Bench Champion Master Hunter |

| IMO...females are sneakier while males will just give you the old "Italian salute" to your face. But, good stable dogs of either sex have more similarities than differences. |
