If you have a dog that has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia either through OFA, PennHip or your Veteranian, have your Veteranian contact the University of Michigan to participate in the ongoing research to find a DNA marker when it comes to HD.

The only way to stop disease from being bred is to find a marker for those animals that have the disease currently AND to educate breeders how to breed those affected and carrier animals.
