| Sad to hear of the death of the breeder. It's a pitty she was the only one with any credibility you were able to recommend. It dosn't say much for the rest of the Australian breeders? |

Actually there are others one in SA and another who was once in partnership with Ann Atkinson(the lady that died)...her kennel is in Queensland. They also have the score on the board... I just had more to do with Ann and her breeding.

No your right but they do send the GWP's all over the country to those hunters that want them for samber...duck quail or what ever but I guess as this is a Deer Hunting topic thats what you are more interested in discussing!

Tony, it's Adrian who phoned you about 6 months ago after buying a GWP off Anne Atkinson. I am in shock that she has passed away! Last year I took Barney on a few fox drives with Seymour FGA and managed to get him up to Ken Leathams a few times tracking Sambar. Barney's now 10 months old and you were right ("You can't get enouth discipline into them"). I've started over again with training and it has made a huge difference in the last month. I've realized now that it's all about dominance with a dog and Barney as a result is more compliant and happier as a result. This year I hope to spend more time taking Barney up to Ken's in Mansfield and will continue with obedience until then. Thanks again for the phone advice, etc.
Regards,
Adrian |

Tony and Jane,
Many thanks for the enjoyable afternoon today taking Macy and Remy out for a play. Barney had a ball almost as much as I did. Jane, many thanks for the backtrapping of pedigree. It was a real treat watching Remy's torpedo retrieving and seeing the training Tony you've put into Macy. It definetly showed. After watching the retrieving ability of your animals, it makes taking prize sambar stags from Ken's mob a bore! Look forward to catching up soon and again, many thanks.
kind regards,
Browndog. |

That's a good idea! I think I'll give away deer hunting. Retreiving rubber torpedos sounds like a real hoot! |
