I am thinking about a GWP but want to get some opinions from other owners on how the dog would preform in Texas. I want to mostly quail hunt with some dove and duck too. It gets pretty hot here in texas (Austin) in the summer and am concerned how they would fair. Would love to here from any Texas owners and maybe info on locating a dog.
thanks,

Hi we live in Texas and our girl does fine in the summer as long as she is not out for extended amounts of time. She gets over heated very easily and it takes her awhile to cool herself off after we get back in. Our girl is not too interested in hunting she could care less but she likes to go for walks and play year round. I f she has to be out for an extended amount of time we live a baby pool with water in it for her. She sometimes will use it but not as much as we would like her to. We live in the Wichita Falls area. We are north of you but it gets pretty darn hot here also.

| My first girl lived with us in Dominican Republique and Haiti. The heat never bothered her. She did enjoy her kiddy pool though! |
