I was wondering if anyone knows where I might find some live rabbits to train my GWP pup on? I am located in Seattle, WA and would like to find some relatively close. Thanks in advance.

I am no hunting specialist, as I have mentioned many times, but isn't it better to start your pup on birds rather than rabbits?
Just wondering... |

He has already been started on birds and I will continue to work him on them. But, since I intend to hunt everything and I want to develop his tracking abilities early, I would like to get him started now. Besides, He'll be taking the VJP in the spring and will be expected to track a rabbit that he has not seen. I understand that the NAVHDA NA test uses pheasants, but the JGV/USA uses rabbits. Anyways, any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I would assume that the adds in the news papers may give you a lead. Also, is there any type of colonies around your area, such as Mormons, Hoteright (Spelling!?? )... They usually do raise rabbits... |
