| Our female GWP will be 2 years old in March. Lately she has been urinating very frequently when we go hunting. She is fine around the house, she can go for long periods without having to go out. In the yard she has her normal habits as well. But when we are out hunting she stops every few minutes. Reminds me of serious scent marking but I don't know what's going on. Any ideas? I need to get her in to our vet but since it only happens when we are out hunting it seems a little odd. |

I always like to rule out the possible health problems, as they are a lot easier to correct than a behavioral or psychological one.
Your girl could suffer from a mild urinary tract infection and with the tall grass, it could irritate her, or of a vaginal infection. She could also have a simple irritation due to certain grass in the area.
You may have a look and see if her openings are a little red or if there is a discharge coming out. Any of these would point to a probable infection.
If there is no health consideration, on a 2 year old female, I would suggest that she may be marking. Dominant females can mark as much as a male, and can even lift her paw to pee. |

| Thank you for replying cheerio. I do think it's dominant behavior because there are no other indications of a health problem. We don't see the behavior at all unless we're hunting, and it's been several days since she's been out. She has plenty of native tall grass at home to get irratated by. She does even lift her paw to pee. Silly girl. |
