This past weekend was the Philadelphia KC shows... benched shows both Saturday and Sunday.

While most all of us hate benched shows, it's just a wonderful chance for us to educate the public about our breed! I didn't go on Saturday, but we did have a couple of great educators there to talk to people. They handed out information on the breed, our local club, and some things about our upcoming hunting test.

I was there on Sunday and I'll be we talked to over 50 people about the GWP. Some people were considering a Wire to add to their families, and many others had never seen one before and wanted to know what they were.

The glory days of the benched shows are gone, but there are still some here and there. If there is one in your neck of the woods, consider entering and sharing your knowledge of the breed with others. While you are dreading the long day, in the end you will feel good! Consider it Public Education!

What a fresh way to view the "ennoying" and perhaps unfortunately dissapearing Bench shows! I have not seen one in my area for years, but you are quite right, it is one of the best way to introduce our far too unknown breed to others. Prhaps we should review our attitude and demand the return of the Bench shows. After all, I am sure that we could suffer through one of them each year if for the benefit of our breed.
