The Fur-Minator is more like a really really really fine comb, the teeth are very tight. It doesn't appear to be cutting the hair, just pulling it.
There were 2 sizes last time I looked, the smaller one is about the width of a normal blade (about 1.5 inches) the one I have is wider, maybe 3 inches?
Just by running over their bodies every two weeks or so, it seems like it's keeping the dead undercoat down and the loose dead top coat out as well.
Remember, a clipper blade works because it has two blades running against each other, therefore working like teeny scissors, this is just the outside..... hard to explain, but so far it's a tool I like alot.
You still have to use the knife for finish work, but for the at-home dog it should be fine. |
