I am so happy: yesterday Homer's eyes were inflamed and weird looking-I immediately thought back to our other pointer, Toby, who had degenerative glaucoma last summer and had to be put to sleep. So after worrying all night and day, I took him to the vet, and it is just conjunctivitis!! I am so happy--we are not prepared to lose another dog so soon to such a painful ailment. Just thought I would share that good news!

Good news! Just a FYI, if you are ever really worried about glaucoma with red painful swollen eyes especially with any vision problems, it is never a bad idea to use your vet's emergency service or one in your area even in the middle of the night. Sometimes hours can make a difference in saving vision.

You are right; it is important to lose no time with these things--I was reading about dog vision issues and that hours can make a difference. Hopefully there won't be a next time, but I will remember that in any case!
