I'm looking at the GWP for a dual purpose hunter (upland and waterfowl), and would like to attend some events (field and performance) to learn about them and meet some owners. Can anyone direct me to a current list?

You can look at the AKC website (below) and the NAVHDA websites for upcoming events. There may be other organizations that do test/ trials, but AKC and NAVHDA are probably your best bets.

The Delaware Valley German Wirehaired Pointer Club is having a Hunt Test in Weatherly PA this weekend -- It's an AKC sanctioned event at the Freeland Kennel Club - from Rt 80 take exit #273 (was old Exit 40) to Route 940 (west or south). Follow to Lehigh Gorge Rd on your left and turn left. Follow to Buck Mountain Rd (watch for a small gas station on your left) and turn right. Follow to Stagecoach Rd and turn left. Folow to the dirt road on your right, turn right and follow to club house.

There will be many different breeds competing at 3 levels -- Junior Hunter, Senior Hunter & Master Hunter ... PLUS good food and great people. Come on out -- it's supposed to be a beautiful weekend.

Thanks for the info. I can't make it this weekend (putting a new floor in my bathroom). I understand another event is scheduled in mid-December in the Delaware Water Gap vicinity. I don't know anymore about it. Do you have any info?
